Welcome to our Double Portion Ministries website.

He took the coat and struck the water with it. He asked, "Where is the LORD God of Elijah?" As he struck the water, it divided to his left and his right, and Elisha crossed [the river]. 2Kings 2:14 God’s Word Translation

Elisha asks Elijah for a double portion in 2Kings 2:9. The coat was a reference point to the supernatural, God’s special mark of approval. In that same way Jacob gave a very special coat to his son Joseph called the Coat of Many Colors. This was his special mark of approval. Though delayed for many years the miracle working power of God did not elude him because of the jealousy of his brothers. In the middle of all of that jealousy that was around him, he yet found himself sitting at the right hand of Pharaoh and for the next 14 years he had brought salvation to humanity, as a type of Jesus Christ. He became a double portion. For the tribe of Joseph was known as Ephraim:
(“I shall be doubly fruitful" or “multitude of the nations”) and Manasseh: (“forgetfulness; he that is forgotten” or “He has made me forget my toil”) and were given their owninheritance. Therefore Joseph and his offspring personify, in its’ essence, the Double portion.

The first miracle of Elisha was one that allowed him to cross over to the other side. Kevin and Beverly Robinson are two unique expressions of God’s love.

They serve the Body of Christ under one purpose. And that is to see the myriad (many colored Coat) of expressions of God as one, cross to the other side, each submitting our individual piece of fabric to God. It is the quest of Double Portion Ministry to see believers be unlimited and at the same time undivided in Christ.

Because you got a double dose of trouble and more than your share of contempt, Your inheritance in the land will be doubled and your joy go on forever. Isaiah 61:7
